Drunk (Jimmy Liggins song)

"Drunk" is a 1953 Jimmy Liggins song.〔Gérard Herzhaft, Paul Harris, Jerry Haussler ''Encyclopedia of the Blues'' 1997 p. 30 "His brother JIMMY LIGGINS (1924-1984), a guitar and sometimes harmonica player, was also successful with "Drunk" and "Saturday Night Boogie-Woogie Man," which made his reputation on the West Coast."〕 The song was released on Art Rupe's Specialty Records with another Liggin's composition "I'll Never Let You Go" as the B-side. The song "Drunk" has been covered by many artists including Ace Cannon (1971) and Steve Tallis (1986).
The lyrics include the line "Came home one night with a spinning in my head/reached for the pillow, missed the whole darned bed".〔Brian Ward ''Just My Soul Responding: Rhythm And Blues'' 0203214455 2003 p.77 ""Came home one night with a spinning in my head/reached for the pillow, missed the whole darned bed", moaned Jimmy Liggins on "Drunk"."〕
